Overview

The Revenue Operations Specialist plays a crucial role in efficiently supporting the Finance Operations team, effectively communicating with customers, and contributing to a range of revenue operations and data analytics initiatives. This role is customer facing, and requires close collaboration with internal teams to ensure effective customer renewal handling, precise contract interpretation, and active involvement in retention efforts while upholding stringent compliance and efficiency standards.  

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Manage customer renewals to ensure prompt and effective handling 
  • Create and manage Salesforce renewal opportunities, closely monitoring their progress to completion 
  • Create and manage requests for renewal documentation in a contract management system. 
  • Review and interpret contract language and terms to ensure accuracy in the creation of renewal documents 
  • Effectively communicate with customers in a professional and customer-focused manner. 
  • Act as a liaison between multiple internal departments and stakeholders, facilitating the renewal process to completion 
  • Analyze various sources of data to identify customers’ overuse or under-licensing of software 
  • Execute initiatives to ensure compliance with customers’ contracts 
  • Analyze renewal data to identify trends and opportunities for process improvement, actively contributing to the reduction of cancellations 
  • Develop proficiency in symplr products to provide the necessary support for product renewal questions 
  • Generate regular reports on renewal rates, customer feedback, and retention efforts for senior management review 
  • Participate in revenue operations projects, including revenue compliance, database management, and data analytics, actively engaging in cross-functional initiatives to drive efficiency and compliance 
  • Perform additional duties as assigned 

Skills Required

  • Experienced in negotiating and navigating difficult conversations with customers 
  • Proficient in Salesforce.com, including experience in Salesforce CPQ and other Quoting Tools 
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel 
  • Strong proficiency in contractual language and the interpretation of terms 
  • Acumen in the customer invoicing lifecycle 
  • Effective and professional communication skills, both written and verbal, suitable for interaction with all levels of the organization 
  • Exceptional attention to detail and effective management of priorities, particularly in dynamic and changing work environments 
  • Ability to establish and maintain trusted advisor relationships with cross-functional teams 
  • Goal-oriented with the flexibility to adapt quickly, learn from failures, and thrive in a fast-paced environment 

 

Qualifications Required

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred  
  • 2-3 years relevant work experience  
  • 1+ years’ experience in a customer-facing role
