Overview

The Director, Global Tax is responsible for supporting the accounting department by managing our global tax compliance, developing and implementing tax planning strategies, and leading tax audits. This is a highly visible role within the organization that will require collaboration across multiple departments and external resources.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with external tax advisors in the preparation and review of federal and state tax returns
  • Lead the development and implementation of strategic tax planning initiatives to optimize the company’s global tax position, considering both domestic and international operations
  • Manage global transfer pricing strategy, documentation, and compliance
  • Develop effective process in reviewing R&D tax credits along with other available tax incentives
  • Assist with tax audits and inquiries from taxing authorities
  • Ensure accurate and timely filing of federal, state, and local income tax returns and other business-related filings, including US sales tax returns.
  • Develop and implement tax strategies and structures for mergers and acquisitions
  • Ensure accurate and timely recognition of tax-related journal entries along with performing detailed reconciliations of impacted tax accounts
  • Monitor legislative and regulatory tax law developments, communicate the effects of these developments to management and create strategies to capitalize on changes to taxation legislation
  • Develop and maintain long-range tax forecast and scenario analysis to inform strategic decision making and reporting

Skills Required

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Business Administration
  • 8+ years of progressive experience in corporate tax
  • Strong understanding of ASC 740 and international tax principles
  • Excellent organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Self-starter with a strong work ethic and proactive approach

 

Desired Skills and Qualifications:

  • CPA or Master’s in Taxation
  • Experience in a healthcare technology company or a company with recurring revenue cycles
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Experience with NetSuite and OneSource
